SEJS - Back to the forest

Last Updated: Mon 19 Oct 2020

The SE junior squad successfully returned to training outside in the woods on Sunday. A keen band of 21 juniors, in carefully distanced small groups of 6 or fewer, took on several exercises at Holmbury Hill. This was an opportunity to remind ourselves of the basic skills needed when orienteering. We looked at attack points, fine navigation following a line, simplification, going straight on a bearing and route choice.

Many thanks to the coaches involved and to all the juniors for their excellent attitudes at the session. Thanks also to LOK (Ronan Cleary), for assistance in gaining access permissions and the use of the map

Next month sees us going to Epping Forest.
